Firstly, a couple of my good friends Amon Polierer and Magnus Kulset are current Double Everesting to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. I joined their incredible ride to finish this off. You can donate here https://www.instagram.com/linking/fundraiser?fundraiser_id=1325766156305961
In terms of the race I was thinking this may be the easiest stage of all 5 on paper. I wanted to be pretty defensive with the important ITT tomorrow. The first Epic KOM was cruisy as. A group of 8 including 6 Masaka riders were there, but no one was pushing too hard. I decided to test them a bit on the Radio Tower, and I had a nice little dig with one of them towards the top. I opened up a gap right at the top and pushed on with it.
I then just rode conservative-ish all the way to the line. Nothing to gain by putting time into them and cooking myself with the next 3 days to come!
